Success Story of Srinath Devarapu (Cleared IBPS PO and Clerk 2017)

Srinath Devarapu

In his own words,

Hi, I am Srinath Devarapu and I cleared IBPS PO and Clerk 2017. I am from Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. I belong to the GENERAL category and I completed Btech EEE in 2016. Soon after completing it, I started preparing for PSBs. My very first test was SBI clerk in July 2016, failed in Mains Exam. Then, I gave RRB PO & Clerk, couldn’t clear prelims itself. Then took IBPS PO, got 52 marks in Mains Exam, the cutoff was 52.5! Then given the last attempt of that year, IBPS Clerk and got 67 in mains, cut off 78+! All my efforts went in vain!

2017: Started preparing 13 hrs a day!

Then I got to know about Oliveboard Mock Test Series and brought their 1-year pack a 3999/- and started practising more seriously this time! Didn’t give SBI PO as I did not prefer it & my first exam was RRB PO, again did not clear in prelims itself. despite enough practice. Took RRB clerk, went late by 5 mins for Mains, so they didn’t allow me to sit for the exam.

I was!

Then I gave IBPS PO, Mains & Interview went well. In IBPS Clerk Prelims Examination, I attempted 99 n got 94. It boosted my confidence to another level! Finally got both PO & Clerk at Andhra Bank!

Here I would like to share you the strategy along with do’s and don’ts!

Quant:- For beginners, do Quicker Math by M. Tyra, did it twice, thrice to become perfect.T hen take Oliveboard Mock Tests, it helps you a lot, particularly Data Interpretation is too good.

Reasoning:- Oliveboard Mock Tests is the best for its Puzzles. Oliveboard updates reasoning questions year by year, exam by exam and you no need to search elsewhere for latest updates.

Gk:- 2 hours preparation is fine. I studied for 6 hrs ( 4 hrs current affairs, 1 hr Banking awareness, 1 hour static). My advice for you guys is don’t waste too much time on current affairs, just follow Affairs cloud daily and take monthly quizzes of Affairscloud & Oliveboard.

Don’t neglect Current affairs as most guys just prepare capsules a week before Mains Exams. It doesn’t help you at all . Give 1 hour daily for current affairs, 45 minutes for banking awareness and 15 minutes for the static part.

English:- I have seen a lot of guys preparing grammar, it doesn’t help you in present bank exams, albeit you get knowledge. Learning Grammar is good but doesn’t depend solely on it for bank exams, build vocabulary and focus on Comprehension.

Perseverance, hard work, patience & nothing else required succeeding!! Particularly General candidates don’t panic by seeing competition. Practice, practice, practice and practice. You will be succeed for sure !

8 hours per day preparation is enough, I kept strained myself by studying 13 hours a day. Don’t do that!

Give 2.5 hours each for Quant and Reasoning, 1 hour for English and 2 hours for GK! ( 8 hours a day )

I will always be grateful to Oliveboard, for providing the similar standard of our Mains Exam papers! Thanks a lot, Oliveboard #Team !!!

All the best to all the aspirants!”
